If there'll be one day that we can communicate using our mind. It'll be great, isn't it?

Think of the first time that we can talk and understand each other. I've just noticed that we can understand each other because of understanding the reaction of our action. We can talk because of we can hear, isn't it? Thinking of the deaf people, they don't have ability to hear, then they can't talk.

What if this phenomena is a de javu of the mind? We can't communicate via it because of inability to percept the reaction of each of its action. This make me think to Ball's project, the visualization. If we can visualize our brain signal to something that we can perceieve, we may be able to practice using it. This will result in two ways:

1. The advancement of mind ability. May be, we can communicate each other using our mind. Or we can control things via our mind. (Better that remote control, right?)

2. The advancement of mind perceptability. In the worst case, if we can't still using our mind to communicate, we can still use the product from this experiment to expand our senses. Think of knowing each other emotion via the LCD screen.

Visualizing may be hard to implement and even harder to success. Because of the limit of eyesight, we can't 360 degrees around. That limit make me think about another sense, auditory sense. If we can autolize (the new word made my me) our mind into the different sound, and transmit it with the wireless signal around 2 or 3 meters from us using the device like wireless ear plug, we may communicate among those who wear these plug. (Like the wireless LAN, but using powe from electric pulse form our body) This is the first step to our Utopia.

Next step is to improve our ability to control the transmission by our mind. I've no idea but to practice the new human generation to put hard work on mind. This evolution may be success within 5 - 6 generations. Or if we find out the extraodinary human, like stated in The Foundation series, we may take the leap of that.

In my view, if we can understand each other, many problem will be solved: conflicts, wars, love, poverty. Actually, cause of almost all problem happened among humand kind seems to be the inability to understand each other.

While we haven't advanced that high, please understand and be understanded. Express your self, and not forgot to observe others.

การที่เรามี ADSL อยู่กับบ้านแล้ว เราก็ควรใช้มันให้คุ้มค่ากับเงินที่จ่ายไป บ้านเราสมัคร ADSL 512 Kb/s โดยเรา พี่เรา น้องเรา หารกันจ่ายทุกเดือน

เรามีไฟล์จำนวนมากมายที่ต้องการเก็บ แต่บางทีการเก็บเป็น CD หรือ DVD นั้นก็ไม่ค่อย reliable นัก

เรากำลังดาวโหลด StarGate ภาคทีวีมาดูอยู่ ซึ่งมีขนาดใหญ่มหาศาลเพราะมีเป็นร้อยตอนแล้วตอนนี้

และจากการศึกษา router ของตัวเองแล้วพบว่าเราไม่สามารถเข้าไปยุ่งกับ OS ของมันได้มากนัก ความฝันที่จะเขียนโปรแกรมไปรันบน router ก็เป็นอันเลิกไป

ดังนั้น

เราอยากทำ File Server ซักตัวนึงเอาไว้ที่บ้าน โดยที่ให้มันต่อดาวโหลด bittorrent อยู่ตลอดเวลาด้วยเลย

วิธีการทำคร่าวๆ (logical model) คือซื้อเครื่องซักตัวนึง (ไม่ต้องเร็ว ไม่ต้องแรง ทุกอย่าง on-board เน้นไม่ร้อนเป็นหลัก และต้องการ case แบบ เล็กจิ๋วและระบายความร้อนดีด้วยจะเจ๋ง แรมไม่ต้องเยอะมาก 256 ก็พอแล้ว อัพเกรดได้โดยการใส่ harddisk และหรือ RAM เพิ่มได้ก็พอ) ใส่ hard disk ขนาดใหญ่มโหฬารเข้าไปแล้วลง Windowsเปิดให้สามารถใช้ remote logon และ remote desktop ได้ เปิด share folder

พอติดตั้งทุกอย่างเสร็จก็ตั้งเครื่องไว้ในที่ที่อากาศถ่ายเทดีและเปิดทิ้งไว้ทั้งวันทั้งคืนเลย เพื่อให้เป็น server สำหรับเก็บไฟล์ต่างๆที่ต้องการเก็บ และให้เป็นตัว download bittorrent ด้วย เมื่อเราต้องการดาวโหลดอะไรก็ใช้ remote desktop เข้าไปเพื่อเพิ่มไฟล์ต่างๆ จากนั้นก็ปล่อยให้ดาวโหลด

ทำอย่างนี้ทำให้เราไม่จำเป็นต้องเปิดโน๊ทบุคเราข้ามคืนอีกต่อไป และได้ใช้เน็ทคุ้มค่ามากๆ สำหรับค่าไฟนั้นอาจมีเพิ่มนิดหน่อย แต่ถ้าเราเลือก hardware ที่ไม่ต้องกินไฟมากนัก (มีทุกอย่าง on-board ไม่ต้องมีการ์ด 3D ) ก็น่าจะกินไฟไม่เยอะมาก

ปัญหาที่อาจตามมาคือ

- เมื่อมีไวรัสระบาด เราอาจจะซวยได้ เพราะว่าเป็นเครื่องที่ทิ้งไว้ ไม่ได้ดูอะไรเลย อันนี้ต้องลงทุนอีกนิด ซื้อ NOD32 อีก license ติดตั้งเอาไว้ซะหน่อย

- ถ้าไฟตกเมื่อไหร่เครื่องก็หยุดไป แม้ boot ใหม่ได้ก็ต้อง remote desktop มา logon เพื่อให้ Bittorrent client เริ่มทำงานได้อีก อันนี้เราจะหาวิธีทำให้ bittorrent client เป็น service ซึ่งจะ start พร้อมกับ windows ได้เลย

- hacker!!! อันนี้ไม่ค่อยห่วงเท่าไหร่เพราะว่าเราตั้งไว้หลัง router ที่บ้านอีกที และที่บ้านเราก็ไม่ค่อยมีใครซอกแซกมากเกินไปนัก

- ตั้งไว้ตรงไหนดี อันนี้สำคัญ เพราะว่า router อยู่บ้านเจ้ ถ้าตั้งเครื่องไว้บ้านเราต้องเดินสายอีกไกลมาก แต่ว่าถ้าตั้งไว้ห้องเจ้ก็จะร้อนมากๆเลย กำลังเล็งบริเวณห้องกลางอยู่ เพราะว่าอากาศถ่ายเทค่อนข้าง OK ไม่งั้นก็อาจจะเอามาตั้งไว้บนตุ้ที่ชั้นล่าง เผื่อมีอะไรเกิดขึ้นคนที่อยู่ข้างล่างจะได้เห็นได้ด้วย

- งบประมาณหล่ะ อันนี้กะไว้ว่าเก็บเงินจากการฝึกงานก็คงได้หมื่นกว่าๆ เพิ่มอีกนิดหน่อยคงซื้อได้แล้วมั้ง

- ปัญหาทางเทคนิค ตอนนี้โน๊ตบุ๊คซึ่งต่อ wireless ไม่สามารถเห็นเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ต่อ LAN ได้ ไม่รู้ว่าเป็นเพราะอะไร แล้วมีเทคนิคอะไรช่วยได้หรือเปล่า (แต่ถ้าไปต่อ LAN ด้วยกันแล้วจะเห็นกัน) อันนี้จะต้อง proof ให้ concept ผ่านก่อน ถึงดำเนินการทำต่อไปได้

จริงๆ แล้วอยากลงระบบปฏิบัติการที่มันเสถียรและปลอดภัยกว่า Windows มากกว่า เช่นพวก linux หรือ unix แต่ว่าถ้าทำแบบนั้นแล้วการติดต่อมันอาจทำได้โดยผ่าน text-mode อย่างเดียว ซึ่งไม่ค่อยสะดวกนักเวลาต้องการอัพโหลด หรือดาวโหลดไฟล์เยอะๆ หรือรันสคริปต์ python นอกจากนั้นยังห่วงเรื่อง bittorrent client เวลาต้องการเพิ่มไฟล์ใหม่ให้ดาวโหลดจะยุ่งยาก

หากโครงการนี้สำเร็จเราจะมีที่เก็บไฟล์มากมาย มีเครื่องดาวโหลด bittorrent 24/7 (24 ชั่วโมง 7 วัน) และสามารถ daily backup ข้อมูลของเราได้โดยการเขียนสคริปต์ง่ายๆ นอกจากนั้นยังสามารถขยายให้เครื่องนี้เป็น online storage โดยการเปิด web server ได้อีกด้วย
